This GCSE Foundation Mathematics is the same AQA Maths GCSE studied in traditional schools and colleges.

As well as providing an excellent knowledge base in Mathematics, this GCSE course is ideal for students who are planning to study mathematics at A-Level, those wanting to boost their knowledge in a range of mathematic topics including fractions, algebra, probability and those aspiring to achieve a career involving Mathematics, as an accountant, data analyst or financial manager.

Please note: This GCSE course is written for the foundation paper, which means the highest level you can achieve is a 5. This course can be completed without taking the exams, but you will not receive the full qualification.

Duration study load

You will up to a year to complete the full GCSE Mathematics course from the date you receive your materials. You will be able to study at your own pace and your only deadlines are the GCSE examinations, which take place at certain times throughout the year.

If you choose to add on the exams, the examinations for this course will be taken at a centre in either Birmingham, Bolton, Doncaster, London or Macclesfield; we will book these for you when you feel you are ready.

Additional exam centres in various locations will soon become available.

Assessment

To achieve a GCSE in Mathematics you will be assessed across the 4 sections. Both components will be assessed by 3 paper-based examinations.

Although you are assessed formally by examination, you will also be required to submit tutor-marked assignments.

These are designed to help you and monitor your progress.
If you choose to study this course you will need to take the foundation level examinations, which means the highest grade available is Level 5.

Course outcome

Upon successful completion of your exams, you will receive a GCSE in Mathematics.

The GCSE is recognised by universities, schools and employers around the world. It is awarded by AQA.

Please note: If you choose to study this course you will need to take the foundation level examinations which means the highest grade available is a C grade. You can take this course without completing exams, but you will not receive the GCSE accreditation.
